Fat Burning Workout Plan

A proper fat burning workout plan will not only firm the body but increase the metabolism as well.

As you gear up to start making some serious changes to how you look and feel, analyzing the most effective components of a proper fat burning workout plan will be important. Unless you're making sure that you have each main component in line, you're not going to see the degree of results that you're after and will just wind up wasting more time in the gym than you have to.

Let's have a quick look at what's necessary for success and how to integrate this into your workout week.

Heavy Resistance Training

The very first thing that's a 'must-do' for any good fat burning workout program is heavy resistance training. This is what will increase the metabolism to the greatest extent helping you literally melt fat off your body.

Those who are doing resistance training as part of their program also tend to notice that they have more shape and muscle definition than those that don't, so if you're looking for a lean six pack and an attractive physique, it's something you're going to want to devote some time to.

Don't let yourself get stuck in the thinking that you should use high reps and light weights however. You'll see far superior results if you really challenge yourself with the weight and lift closer to the 6-10 rep range instead. This allows you to build a maximum level of strength while also increasing the amount of fat loss that takes place.

Aim to focus primarily on exercises such as the bench press, squats, dead-lifts, barbell rows, as well as the shoulder press. These are the movements that will work the greatest number of muscle fibers at once in the body and produce the greatest overall calorie burn throughout the session.

Interval Cardio Training

Next, the second thing that must be included in your fat burning workout plan is interval cardio training. For many people, cardio in the past has meant hopping onto the treadmill, bike, or the elliptical and going at a moderate pace for up to an hour.

Talk about boring! It's one of the most ineffective ways to get a six pack since you're hardly doing anything to burn off body fat. True, you may burn a few calories while you do it, but after that the benefits stop.

Instead, try some interval cardio training. When you add this to your workouts you'll increase your level of fitness, prevent the loss of lean muscle tissue, and after the session is complete you'll continue burning calories at an elevated pace for hours to come.

You'll literally send your metabolic rate through the roof with this form of cardio training. Aim for intervals of 30-60 seconds and rest periods of twice that length for best results.

Recovery Training

The third component to add to your fat burning workout plan is proper recovery training. While it is very important that you're working hard with each workout you do, it's also vital that you're giving your body the rest time it needs to recover.

Aim for at least one light cardio workout per week where you exercise at an intensity level of five out of ten for twenty to thirty minutes and then one full day off. This will make sure you come back to each session feel fresh and ready to push your body to the limit.

Designing Your Fat Burning Workout Plan

Finally, when it comes to designing your overall program, aim to perform weight lifting three or four days out of the week using a full body or an upper and lower body split workout and then add in two days of the interval cardio training on top of that.

This will give you the best of both worlds so you can achieve maximum leanness in the shortest period of time possible and get those six pack abs you're after.

Never do your cardio training immediately before you're scheduled to do your weight lifting however as that would quickly reduce the overall energy you have to dedicate to heavy lifting. Instead, perform your cardio later on during the day or on an entirely different day altogether.

So keep these points in mind if you're chasing after the goal of a six pack and want results quickly. When you can also make sure that you're eating a proper diet to get a six pack, you'll really make sure you see the best results possible from your fat burning workout plan.
